quit your job or just quit school already.

Let me blog about this one thing that's really disturbing. Part-time job. So what's so disturbing about it?  Well,  the job itself is not disturbing, it's actually the people, the ones who are doing the part-time job.

So,  in my class, there are a few people who are having a part-time job. When I say part-time job,  I do not mean those who are working part-time only during school holidays. I'm talking about those who are working even during school days. To be honest, I'm not against them, it's totally okay with me.  I respect their decision to have a part-time job. I know, they just want to earn some money, so they don't have to ask for money from their parents.  However, what makes it not okay is when they skip school just to go to work.

I mean, if you're going to skip school just to go to work, why don't you just quit school? When you do this, it only shows how much you don't fucking care about your studies. It's annoying. It makes me mad. You neglect your studies. You're ruining the class attendance. You annoy the teachers because they keep seeing empty seats in class and then we have to listen to the teachers talking about how mad they are.

If you don't care about your studies, quit school.

You're in form six. That means you have a choice. Hell you have a lot of choices. You don't have to continue study if you really think that school is not for you. If you think form six is not for you. You can quit and then get a permanent job, or you get into vocational school, or just get married. (for girls) If you can have a part-time job, I'm sure your parents will approve if you want to quit school.

Another thing I would like to point out, this is actually what my teacher said. She said that unless you're starving, your parents can't give you money to buy anything you need, don't get a part-time job. Go to school. She's right. And fyi these people in my class, they wear prettier clothes than me, they eat better food than me, they have a lot of things I do not have. So what does that mean?  It means they have money. Their parents have money. Enough for them to wear those pretty clothes, eat those good food. They don't need a part-time job. At least they don't have to work during school days. They shouldn't.

This working part-time is becoming a trend in my school. Another classmate of mine just started working part-time, idk when,  this week maybe, and he only came to school once for this week. If he come tomorrow then it would make it twice. That's crazy. It's only the second week of third semester and he had been absent for so many days. I think even last week he only came to school twice, or maybe thrice.

I know how it's like when you have a part-time job. I've been there, done that. But I did not work during school days. Because I fucking care about my studies. Even though I actually hate school. So back to my story, I was working only during weekends. Since I worked on weekends, I was always tired on Monday. And the tiredness actually continued throughout the week. Because I was really tired, I would skip school on Monday. Sometimes on Friday. And whenever I felt lazy. I didn't skip school to work. I skipped because I was tired and when I was tired I became lazy. So lazy means no school. That's how I was last year. And then I stopped. Because it did not feel right. I shouldn't skip school just because I was tired, because of my part-time job. Yes I resigned. Now I feel better. It's okay if I don't have extra money. As long as I do well in my studies. Because I don't want to disappoint my parents. They've done a lot for me. I need to at least get good results and get a job that pays well.

Oh, wait. Yes I skipped school to sleep at home, not because I worked during school days.  But I do know that, when you have a part-time job, it makes you greedy. You will want more. You want to work even during school days, work overtime, so you can earn more money.  I know because I once had that thought too. Having a part-time job, makes you feel like your studies are not important anymore. You'll feel that. And I think my classmates have the same thought. Or else they won't be working during school days. They would come to school instead.

This is not right.  They need to set their priorities right. I'm mad because they are my classmates, probably because I care about them or I'm just annoyed.
